GOD’S PHENOMENAL WOMAN
By Pamela A. Paige

JOHN 20:11
11. But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, (KJV)

Mary had just discovered that Jesus’ tomb was empty. In verse 10 of this chapter we see the two disciples going back to their homes after running to the sepulcher and finding Jesus’ body gone. Phenomenal Woman please notice that the verse we are studying at this time starts with the word “but”. In other words, everyone returned to his or her home with the exception of Mary! It was bad enough that Jesus had died, but to not be able to go through the proper ceremony concerning His remains was too much to bear! In her distress, she stood and wept deeply. Jesus saw and felt her anguish of spirit. Such emotions from Mary caused Jesus to reveal Himself to her. When He first spoke to her, she did not know who He was. When He called her by her name, she simply said Rabboni. She knew it was Jesus. No one could say her name like that but Jesus!

Oh Phenomenal Woman, you have a hope that when you cry out in your distress, He will see your tears! He will come to you speedily! Your cries move the very Heart of God on His Throne. He will take action if only you would cry out to Him today!
